2019 NHL Draft
Its was a huge two days at the NHL draft for The Calgary Northstars!!!
Brayden Tracey- Drafted to the Anaheim Ducks 29th overall pick
Brayden Tracey played for the Midget AAA Northstars for two seasons, beginning as a 15 year old player. In his 16 year old season, Brayden was one of the leagues top players and leading scorers. More importantly Brayden possesses all the attributes that represent what it means to be a Calgary Northstar. Dedication, Pride, Perseverance... among many other excellent traits he posses that make him such a great character kid. He is a fantastic leader for us, and just his commitment to become a better player and better person every day was amazing to watch.
Kieran Ruscheinski - Drafted to the Montreal Canadiens 206th overall
Kieran Ruscheinski played for the Midget AAA Northstars as a 16 and 17 year old in the last two seasons. Prior to that Kieran played minor midget and bantam AA, never making bantam AAA. Kieran is a very hard to play against defender who takes a lot of pride in his defensive game, and shutting down opposing teams top players and lines. What is most impressive about Kieran though beyond his incredible on-ice skills his his ability to be a great teammate, and a strong leader. Every practice he would be hard at work, every dryland, and every game. When things weren't going well, Kieran would step up and get the team back in check. He'd motivate guys around him and more often then not, we'd rebound. He too is everything that it means to be a Calgary Northstar!
