Calgary Northstars Hockey Association introduces New General Manager of Hockey Operations
After an extensive search with applicants from across Canada, The Calgary Northstars Hockey Association’s Board of Directors is proud to welcome Jesse Hale as the CNHA’s General Manager of Hockey Operations.
Coming to the Northstars from his last role as Head of Hockey Development within the Ottawa Senators organization, Hale says his goal for the CNHA is to become known as the most innovative and progressive organization in terms of player and coach development.
“We will have a very hands on approach providing mentorship of all of our coaches regardless of level, experience or age, everyone can learn - we will create a coaches fraternity and sense of community among them,” says Hale. “Our player development approach will be a holistic one where we not only seek to develop their relevant technical and tactical on-ice skills but also skills that make our players better people to prepare them for life's next steps, whether that be in hockey or contributing to society in other ways.”
Hale says that the first and biggest step to take in the creation of this improved Northstars organization is to develop a consistent value based culture and create an identity for the CNHA that breeds success on and off the ice by providing an optimal development experience for all players and coaches in the association.
“We will look for new ways and create best practices and set new standards for success. Our organization will take ownership in making it our job to develop each member's technical, tactical, mental, physical, and life skills. We will stress player and people development in our association and nothing will be assumed. We will have an active approach in achieving both” said Hale.
Hale says he is excited to be able to make a positive impact in creating the culture and being able to put resources in place to provide athletes and stakeholders with the ultimate minor hockey experience.
“It is a big job and not one I take for granted or lightly,” says Hale. “I am honored to be in the position to take my previous experience and bring that to the Calgary Northstars.”
Hale’s previous experience also includes Manager of Hockey Development and Consultant for the Regional Development Centre for Hockey Alberta and Program Coordinator for the Alberta Sport Development Centre. Hale also has an extensive background in coaching AAA teams of all levels including college and university level. Hale also holds a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge.
