June 06, 2020 Update: As we near the beginning of summer there is still a great deal of uncertainty in the hockey community with regards to the re-opening of businesses as well as sport facilities. We are eager to get back life as we know it, but we do realize there will be a ‘New Normal’ as organizations begin to start up. We are all eager to get back on the ice, but we must realize that the safety of our players, parents, coaches, staff, and volunteers is paramount as we return to play. The Calgary Northstars organization will continue to be as active as possible in developing a ‘Return to Play’ program that meets the criteria as laid out by the health experts in the province and at the same time supports the needs of our membership. Our primary responsibility is to have a plan in place that can be adapted to meet those requirements and allow participants back on the ice in a safe atmosphere. The current focus is to work to ensure our game is ready to go in the fall, if allowed as part of the province’s relaunch plan. We also want to be prepared if rinks open sooner than that because we know that our participants, and the hockey community in general, are clamoring to return to hockey. We will provide more details once they are available.
A reminder for first time players in Elite hockey, you will need to ‘share’ your Hockey Canada file with the Calgary Northstars before you can register for a program or tryouts.
